DW has just finished mixing tracks for the new album by jazz trio The New Standards. The New Standards are John Munson on upright bass, Chan Poling on piano, and Steve Roehm on vibes. Munson, of Semisonic fame, and Poling, of Minneapolis legends The Suburbs, trade off on vocals. DW produced the album, which should be available to the public in early October.
The band plays what they call “Jazz at Two Minutes Fifty”, covering songs by such disparate artists as Neil Young, Frank Loesser, Blur, Roxy Music, and The Flying Burrito Brothers. Wow.
