How lucky am I? Lucky enough that I get to watch my song “Breathless” being sung on Greek TV, in rolling Greek-accented English, as though it’s an old standard.

Dan Wilson is a singer, multi-instrumentalist, and Grammy-winning songwriter. Over more than two decades, he has built a reputation as a writer of songs of uncompromising beauty and timeless artistry: a "songwriter's songwriter" whose music has nonetheless many times graced the top of the popular charts.

LOL you have to know that Lefteris Pantazis (also known as LEPA:P ) was a famous representative of the mainstream, low quality music.
Maybe with this post Pantazis is very lucky. Nobody hear his music anymore…
Regards, also, from Greece!

the songs pantazis sings are mostly greek songs for belly-dancing, the kind of songs the greek people above(me included) listen when they go to bouzoukia. so it’s cheap to belittle him as a person just because of his poor performance in a different song.:P
8:18 pm on 4/6/11
don’t you have humour guys? it’s not a cover, it’s a parody! and the original parody -posted above- is better http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adrcY4zfWtk

Oh come on guys don’t be so harsh with LePa. The guy had a huge career and millions of people listened to his songs and fell in love with them, in Greece.
Personally i do not like his songs that much but we shouldn’t be so judgmental with an artist who has entertained so many people for more than a decade, and introduced Greek music to many middle eastern countries. Whether we like it or not it is the truth.
He liked the song, he was touched, and tried to sing it the best he could.
2:06 pm on 4/11/11
Tsikolis makes a good point.
I don’t know anything about LePa, I just enjoyed his version of my song, old-fashioned as it was. It made me smile and I loved that he was giving it his all.
I like my version a lot too, but I am not impartial.

don’t take it personally we love you in greece!!

I would feel very honored to have some foreign star (maybe past his prime, but he looks popular) actually work that hard to learn a song I wrote …. obviously it left him breathless!!
Check YouTube, others have massacred it, he at least has a voice and stage presence (and hot back up chicks that don’t sing?)
When was the last time you (meaning any musician) learned another language just to sing a song?
I love your music, it always bothers me that it seems you are barely thought of here in Minnesota and are quite famous in Greece! If I were Dan Wilson I’d be hauling the family to that warm sunny beautiful country for a few months and get inspired by the adoring crowd!
